150 Years of Dutch Helping Dutch
In The UK

Since 1874 the Koning Willem Fonds (KWF) has provided a lifeline for Dutch nationals in the United Kingdom. We offer vital assistance in times of need. Our mission is to support Dutch individuals facing challenges such as homelessness, illness, financial hardship, or unforeseen life events, ensuring no Dutch person in the UK stands alone.

What help do we offer?

By listening to you, we hope to provide purpose and to help you to overcome angst, whereby a path forward can be identified.

We provide small monthly pension top-up payments if you are elderly. We could perhaps assist with supermarket vouchers, or we help with the purchase of white goods or flooring. Another example of the support we give is practical support for those faced with utility bills, (this may arise because of meter reading issues, where an energy provider has failed to listen to your concerns). With your permission we make contact with them to understand what has gone wrong hoping to address the problem.

Sometimes chatting with a Trustee, of being listened to, is all that is needed. For example, if you are thinking about the consequences of a possible repatriation to The Netherlands, this is one area where we have provided guidance in the recent past.

Roughly two-thirds of enquiries received are supported by Trustees

Trustees personally visit many applicants, maintaining contact via telephone or email; often our contact continues well after an applicant’s case has closed.

We are available 24/7 for emergencies. Trustees do not receive remuneration.

We employ one Social Work Coordinator who presents the cases to be evaluated at Trustee meetings.
