What Can We Do With Your Support
Our applicants have often tried and failed to access help elsewhere so that, by the time they reach us, their personal circumstances can be quite urgent. A small handful of applicants receive a regular monthly pension top-up, to help with living costs. A significant proportion of our applicants are single mothers. Many people find the burden of modern bureaucracy onerous which impedes their access to satisfactory financial and emotional support. Our philosophy is to actively listen to an applicant’s life story, and to provide a collective and considered strategy of help.
Our Finances and Operations
Whilst we have a small investment fund, the income received on these monies does not cover outgoing aid payments made to applicants by the Charity. We are as a consequence actively looking for corporate partners, in addition to private donors / individual donations. Where requested financial aid can be directed towards specific applicant type.
The growth in applicant numbers in the past few years has reached levels not reported in living memory. Whilst some 10 years ago applicant numbers were around 50 per annum, in recent years this annual number has risen to 300. The Charity has seen significant changes in its operating environment. Brexit heightened the need for correct identity documentation, Covid impacted new sections of society, and more recently the cost of living crisis, have all meant the number of people turning to us has grown rapidly.
Private Donors – these are the mainstay of support for our Charity. PayPal payments are possible, cheques are welcome, and please inform us if we can claim Gift Aid from your donation.
Corporate Donors – in order to help with the significantly higher number of applicants, we are seeking to establish links with corporate entities ready to aid a Dutch person in need. This could be aid in the form of goods or services or a monetary donation. Please get in touch with us as well, we are keen and eager to expand potential links.
Potential Partnership ideas are –
- healthcare packages
- new flooring or soft furnishings
- supermarket voucher support (a typical monthly payment to a single person is £240)
- white good procurement
We are open to suggestions – please contact us using our email address.
